Staying at Colony Club Barbados
My first visit to Colony Club was in October of 2020. A quiet time to visit the beautiful island of Barbados. It was a blissful stay and there were very few tourists.
Jump forward to my stay this year, 2025 Colony Club is refreshed and looks a lot different.
This resort is ideal for adults or families with older children who are looking for an elevated five star stay. Think of Colony Club as a boutique Barbados hotel. Located on the Platinum Coast, the West coast of Barbados, it is a small property with big heart. A secluded shady beach with low rise buildings, beautiful waterfront dining, always with a chance of the best sunsets on the island.
There is exquisite dining on site, but note this hotel is not an all inclusive property. Unlike its sister properties, the Colony Club is also not included in the flexible dining options offered at resorts like The Waves or The House, or Treasure Beach.
When I first saw this hotel in person in 2020, it was finalizing its sale from the Elegent Hotel Collection to Marriott. Now, a full Marriott owned and operated property it still has retained its charm. I was nervous returning, hopeful the staff and warmth you feel at this hotel was retained despite the acquisition by this huge hotel chain.
I will upload a full room tour of my accommodations and link the YouTube video here when it’s ready.
Likewise I’ll upload a YouTube video of a resort tour and walkthrough.
The Rum Vault dining experiences are a must do. If you stay at Colony Club, be sure to book this in advance. If you are not a guest of the hotel there is limited availability, and you can still book this exclusive experience - truly unique to the island.

This resort is not ideal for families with very young children or those who are looking for energetic vibe and buzz, or waterparks or full scale kids programming.
